Hydro-seeding Process Hydro-seeding is a grass planting process and a process of mixing grass seed, fertilizer, mulch and water. The mulch material used in Hydro-seeding is usually made of wood or recycled paper. The material is mixed in the tank of a Hydro-seeding machine, and then pumped from the tank and sprayed onto the ground. The water and fertilizer help the seed to germinate and take root, while the mulch holds the seed in place on the ground and helps hold moisture in the soil. Hydro-seeding can be done in the spring, fall and early summer. Helicopters can also be used to spray this slurry to cover larger areas. Mulch also plays a critical role in prevention of soil erosion. Hydro-seeding can be applied over an existing grass bed, filling in bare spots while strengthening the already existing growth. With hydro-seeding different types of seeds can be used and it is very flexible. The process is more effective than conventional seeding. Hydro-seeding also gives you the control to cover difficult areas such as steep slopes that are difficult to sod. living elements, such as flora or fauna; or what is commonly known to as gardening, the art and craft of growing plants with a goal of creating a beautiful environment within the landscape. natural elements such as landforms, terrain shape and elevation, or bodies of water\.
