Bom-mach - manufacturer of Stampede compaction machines in South Africa.

Stampede is a proudly South African based and developed manufacturer of quality compaction equipment. Focused on Customer Satisfaction Stampede’s business model is built on a culture of customer centric behaviour. From the focus on quality in the assembly plant, to the supply of parts and service in after sales departments of our business, our customers can rest assured of a focus on their needs and requirements. Stampede started from humble beginnings in 1987, as a maintenance workshop operating from the owner’s back yard. Within two years the business relocated to larger premises and during this time, the Stampede brand was created. In the early 90’s, management evolved Stampede into a compaction equipment manufacturer and ever since then, the company been one of South Africa’s trusted compaction brands. Stampede is proud of the fact they use over 90% local content, thereby supporting and developing the South African manufacturing economy. Shortly thereafter, the design process got under way for the manufacture of the Stampede Pedestrian Roller, ideal for larger compaction areas. In 1995 the first Stampede Pedestrian Roller was sold and over the next few years, a full range of Stampede walk-behind Rollers were developed, ranging from the 39cm drum (ideal for trench-work), the ever popular 75cm, to the heavy-duty 90cm. Stampede is one of the few brands internationally that produces the 39cm roller and the big 90cm drum Pedestrian Roller, with over a 1000 Stampede Rollers sold into the market. In 2004, Stampede was again ready to launch a new product, this time the Stampede Rammer, also known as a Tamper compactor. In January 2007, Stampede was sold to a new management and the same trusted manufacturing and sales team set out to improve and enhance the Stampede brand and reputation. In 2016, Consolidated Steel Industries sold Stampede to a consortium of businessmen and senior managers within the company. The new ownership now puts the business in the hands and control of the shareholding managers who have advanced the recent strategic changes and applied further refinement of the product development and design. The company’s national and Southern Africa footprint is also undergoing a boost through new dealership distribution agreements.
